En los próximos días vamos a aprender cómo llegar a un acuerdo. De momento os propongo la siguiente actividad de la página 34. Espero poder trabajar este contenido pronto en clase con vosotros.

Are you ready for some English activities?
We have finished Unit 3, but there are some activities we can do.
Do you remember MUST and MUSTN'T? (aprendimos estos verbos para hablar de cosas que debemos o no debemos hacer).
Let's practise a bit more. On the link below there is a double worksheet. You can print it or just copy your answers on a piece of paper.
Today we are going to do some Social Science activities.
El primer tema que tenemos que estudiar en esta asignatura se titula "Maps and globes". Se trata de una unidad con contenidos como los mapas, el globo terráqueo, los paralelos y los meridianos, etc. Todos estos conceptos los veremos en clase en unos días, por lo que de momento podemos ir introduciendo algunos de ellos para que os resulten familiares cuando los veamos la próxima semana.

Lo primero es situarnos y tener claros los puntos cardinales: NORTH, SOUTH, EAST, WEST.
Vamos a comenzar con algunas de las líneas que podemos ver en mapas y globos terráqueos.
A. EQUATOR: divides the Earth into the Northern Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere.
B. GREENWICH MERIDIAN (or PRIME MERIDIAN): divides the Earth into the Eastern Hemisphere and the Western Hemisphere.
C. LINES OF LATITUDE: these lines go horizontally around the Earth.
D. LINES OF LONGITUDE: go vertically from the North Pole to the South Pole.
Echadle un vistazo al siguiente mapa para identificar A, B, C y D.
Vamos a pasar al globo terráqueo. Intenta dibujar las líneas que hemos visto más arriba, en el siguiente globo.
1. Draw the lines of latitude, lines of longitude, Equator and Greenwich Meridian (dibuja en tu cuaderno el globo y luego trata de etiquetar las diferentes líneas).
Una vez que dibujamos el Equator (la línea horizontal roja -----------) que divide en dos la Tierra, aparece el Hemisferio Norte y el Hemisferio Sur.
Utilizando internet o pidiendo ayuda a algún adulto intenta hacer la siguiente actividad.
2. Write in your notebook five countries that are in the Northern Hemisphere and five in the Southern Hemisphere.
Ejemplo:
NORTHERN HEMISPHERE: Spain...
SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE: Chile...
3. Si vamos a trabajar con los mapas y con el globo terráqueo, es necesario que aprendamos dónde están los diferentes continentes y océanos. En los siguientes juegos podéis practicar un poco.
4. En el siguiente vídeo podéis ver de nuevo las líneas imaginarias que podemos observar en mapas y en el globo terráqueo. Es un vídeo muy corto, pero os ayudará a verlo claramente. Click and watch.
Espero que hayáis aprendido algo nuevo e interesante hoy. Recordad que esto es solo una introducción: veremos todas estas cosas con más detalle y calma en cuanto volvamos al colegio.
