Social Science: Weather and climate

Estimadas familias:

Good morning, everyone!

Lots of you have been visiting my blog and I know you are doing some activities at home to go over the contents we are studying these days. That's fantastic!

Today I wanted to share some materials to play and learn a bit more about weather and climate.

First, this is a very interesting worksheet about world climates. I know these are contents we haven't explained at school yet, but give it a go. It is not difficult if you read it slowly. You can print it, work with it on your tablet...

And this second link is an easy experiment you can try at home: Would you like to produce rain? Remember what we explain about condensation. With the next experiment you can understand that concept a bit better (PB 26).

Have a nice Thursday ;)

Natural science: matter and materials

Good morning, kids.

How are you today? We are here at school missing you a lot :(

I have found a video that explains what matter is in a different way. And it shows some simple experiments to prove aspects like the mass and volume of air...

Have a look at it and try the experiments at home. If you do it, you can send me a photograph so we can share it on the blog.

Another content we are studying is materials and their properties. This is a game with three levels where you can practice with magnetic materiales, shiny ones, etc. Good luck with the three missions!

I hope you are OK. See you ASAP.

English
Read PB pages 78-80. AB pages 75, 76, 78,108.
Worksheets (Vocabulary and Grammar).
Natural Science
Read and study PB pages 72-75. Exercises PB 73:6, 74: 1-2, 80: 1-3.
AB pages 26-28.
Social Science
Read and study PB pages 24-29. Exercises PB 29: 3, 34: 1-3.

Social Science: weather and climate

Hello, kids!

If you have been paying attention these days, you already know what weather is. The last section in our Social Science unit is devoted to climate. Weather and climate are connected, but they are not the same thing.

NASA offers some cool activities to understand the difference between these two important concepts.

Click HERE to visit the website.

See you tomorrow.

Natural Science: matter

Hello, friends.

As you know, in Natural Science we are dealing with contents like matter, materials, etc. This is difficult stuff, but I am sure you will be fine with some work and some activities we are doing at school.

The next video can help you understand what matter is and how it can have different states: solid, liquid and gas.

Watch it and if there is anything you don't understand, please let me know.

See you tomorrow :)

Social Science: SPACE

Hello, kids!

We are starting a new unit in Social Science devoted to space. Yesterday we talked about the Space Race and how the USA created the NASA. In the link below you can visit the NASA Kid's Club, with some interesting games and videos. Give it a go! ;)

See you later!

Natural Science: pizza :)

Good evening, my friends!

Do you like pizza? Of course you do... everybody loves pizza. But I'm not talking about one of those frozen pizzas, or the ones that contain a million calories. No. I mean a fantastic pizza created by you.

In Natural Science we are learning a lot about nutrition and how important our diet is to stay healthy.

I have found a very nice game to design your own pizza. You have to choose the different ingredients and toppings and then you can name your recipe.

Why don't you try it and become a chef? After the long weekend, you can tell me about your pizza...I'm sure I'm going to love it.

Bye, chefs!
