Social Science (Oceans and Continents)

Hello, children:

In the link below there is a very easy game to go over the continents and oceans. Don't worry if you see Australia instead of Oceania, I'll explain the difference at school.

Play here.

Listen to the next song to go over some facts about the five oceans. I hope you like it.

See you tomorrow ;)

Social Science 16 th April 2020

Hello, kids!

First of all I 'd like to share with you some of the drawings I have received in the last days.

Today we have to do a bit of Social Science. We started a new unit a few days ago (unit 3: water), and we talked about rivers, oceans, seas and lakes. Today we are going to talk about rivers. This is the information you can find on PB page 46 .

The first photograph shows some important aspects about rivers.

This second photograph tries to explain the stages of a river (son los diferentes lugares en el río, desde que comienza hasta que desemboca: from the source to the mouth).

(como dice Gabriel, tengo que dejar de ir a esa escuela de arte).

So, after reading that information, let's see if you can do the next activities...

1. Draw a river and label the most important parts.
2. Try to do the next worksheet. Read it carefully and slowly.
3. I found a song about rivers.

Poco a poco.

That'll be all!

See you tomorrow :)

Social Science 1st April 2020

Good morning, everyone!

How are you today? We begin a new month, and that is always a good thing

Let's start with some drawings by Miguel and Hugo E.

And now, Social Science.

We start Unit 3 today: Water. So we are going to talk about...anyone? Yes, water.

If you have your book with you, you can read pages 44-45. I have used those pages to write the next word map.

If you observe the physical map on page 44, you will see many examples of bodies of water (seas, oceans, rivers and lakes...). But we need a better map or Google to do the next activities :

1. Write five oceans and tell me if they are in the Northern hemisphere, Southern hemisphere or both.

2. Write five seas, five rivers and five lakes and say where they are (the continent is enough).

Now have a closer look at a map and observe the Iberian Peninsula. Answer the next question:

3. Which bodies of water border (rodean) Spain?

Read pages 44-45 again (or my word map) before you try the next quiz (link below).

4. QUIZ

Have a nice Wednesday!

See you tomorrow ;)

Social Science: Maps

Hello, kids!

I already told about this great website to learn everything you need to know about the continents, oceans, etc.
http://world-geography-games.com/

But I am going to help you finding some of the most important contents for this unit:

Mountain ranges: http://world-geography-games.com/mountain_ranges.html

Rivers:http://world-geography-games.com/rivers.html

Continents: http://world-geography-games.com/continents.html

Oceans:http://world-geography-games.com/oceans.html

Countries: http://world-geography-games.com/countries_continents.html

Capital cities:http://world-geography-games.com/capitals_continents.html

(Pero recordad, estos juegos son solo una pequeña ayuda: los contenidos que entrarán en el examen son los que explicamos en clase. Jugad a estos juegos sólo cuando ya tengáis claro lo que explicamos cada día en nuestras clases).

This is another website you can visit: http://serbal.pntic.mec.es/ealg0027/mmundi2i.html

Good luck, little explorers!

See you tomorrow.
