Natural Science 17th June 2020

Hello, everyone!

How are you today? I'm fine. Thanks for asking :)

Let's do some Natural Science today: this is the last post, so I think we could do some review activities about some of the contents we have learnt this year. Are you ready?

1. We studied a lot of interesting things about the human body on the first term. Let's see if you can classify the next organs:

ovary, lung, artery, bronchi, penis, trachea, vein, alveoli, heart, testicle, uterus.

RESPIRATORY SYSTEM
CIRCULATORY SYSTEM
REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM

2. One of our first units was devoted to healthy living. Are the next statements TRUE or FALSE?

a) Calories are bad for our body.
b) Fruit and vegetables contain lots of vitamins.
c) Nuts contain healthy fats.
d) You kill germs when you wash your hands.
e) Kids need to sleep more than adults.
f) Carbohydrates don't contain a lot of energy.
g) Having friends is good for your health.
h) Dairy products help your teeth and bones.

3. The next crossword can help you remember the functions of the different parts of plants (very easy).

PLANTS CROSSWORD

4. Solid, liquid or gas?

English 16th June 2020

Good morning, children:

It's Tuesday and we have to do some English. Some days ago we talked about Italy, then Mexico and today we are going to learn some interesting facts about England.

If you have a look at PB page 100 you can read some information about what England is famous for. You can also listen to it on the link below (or Navio).

1. After reading and listening, answer the next questions:
a) What sports is England famous for?
b) What time do people have afternoon tea?
c) What are the buses in London like?
d) What is Hamley's?
e) What can people eat at Wimbledon while they watch?

2. We are finishing the unit, so it's time to do some review activities: AB page 98: 1-3.

See you tomorrow ;)

Social Science 15th June 2020

Good morning, little friends:

Welcome to a new week, the last week! In five days you will be starting your summer holidays, isn't it great?

Today we have to do some Social Science. Since it is the last session I thought we could do some activities to go over some of the contents we have studied this year, so this is going to be a very varied post :)

1. Let's start with some History. Could you write in chronological order the next historical periods?

HISTORICAL PERIODS: THE MODERN AGE, THE METAL AGES, THE STONE AGE, ANCIENT HISTORY, THE CONTEMPORARY AGE, THE MIDDLE AGES.

2. Try to do the next worksheet to classify some archaeological objects.

3. On the link below there is a video quiz about the Roman Empire. Give it a go! (aunque pueda parecer complicado, algunas preguntas nos pueden servir de repaso de contenidos que hemos visto este año).

4. Do you remember our unit about Space? Let's finish with the next interactive worksheet to go over some of the things we learnt about our Solar System.

See you tomorrow ;)

English 12th June 2020

Hello, little people:

It's our last Friday with "classes", because next week we have our video-call (jitsi). That means this could be our last song, or we could have another, maybe next week. I have to think about it :)

Anyway, let's start with some music ;)

1. Complete the lyrics:

I hope you like it, I know Alvaro did.

2. Two days ago we talked about Italy. Today we are going to read about another fantastic country: Mexico! You can read some information on PB page 99 (you can also listen to it on the link below).

3. After reading, try to answer the next questions about the text.

a) What can you eat in Mexico?
b) How old are some of the Ancient ruins in Mexico?
c) What are the typical music bands in Mexico?
d) Are there beaches in Mexico?

4. Let's finish today with another worksheet to go over Present perfect tense (very easy and short).

Have a nice weekend :)

Natural Science 11th June 2020

Good morning, everyone:

How are you today? It's Thursday again...one of our last Thursdays! I'll try not to cry :(

Today I'd like to finish our unit about animals and start something new.

1. In the next photographs, provided by our friends Lucas, we can see three different invertebrates. I want you to write:
- its name,
- its group (arthropod, mollusc, echinoderm, cnidarian, sponge, annelid),
- one characteristic (body, where they live...).

INVERTEBRATE A.

INVERTEBRATE B

INVERTEBRATE C

Thank you, Lucas!

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

And now we have to start a new unit :)

Unit 6 is devoted to machines and energy. We studied some of these contents last year.

If you have a look at PB pages 86-87 you can read some information about these simple machines.

2. Think about the objects in your classroom or at home. Can you identify some simple machines? Write at least six:

LEVER_____________________________________________
INCLINED PLANE_____________________________________
PULLEY_____________________________________________
SCREW______________________________________________
WEDGE_____________________________________________
WHEEL AND AXLE

3. Let's finish with another interactive worksheet. Very easy, if you read it carefully ;)

See you tomorrow ;)
