English 17th April 2020

Good morning, everyone!

It is Friday. Some people say it is the best day of the week. I prefer Thursdays, but Fridays are fine too.

Today we have some English work to do. But first things first: let's start with another song (don't worry, it is not another rap, this is a very cool song).

1. That is a very cool song! Did you like it? I know you did :)
The first thing is writing the missing words from the lyrics below.

Imagine me and (1)_____________, I do
I (2)____________about you day and (3)_____________, it's only right
To think about the girl you (4)______________and hold her tight
So happy together
If I should call you up, invest a dime
And you say you belong to me and ease my mind
Imagine how the (5)________________could be, so very fine
So happy (6)_________________
I can't see me lovin' nobody but you
For all my life
When you're with me, baby the skies'll be (7)____________________
For all my (8)_______________________
Me and you and you and me
No matter how they toss the dice, it had to be
The only one for me is you, and you for me
So (9)______________________together
I can't see me lovin' nobody but you
For all my life
When you're with me, (10)___________________the skies'll be blue
For all my life
(11)____________________________
No matter how they toss the dice, it had to be
The only one for me is you, and you for me
So happy together
Ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba
Ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba
Me and you and you and me
No (12)___________________how they toss the dice, it had to be
The only one for me is you, and you for me
So happy together
So happy together
How is the (13)______________
So happy together
We're happy together
So happy together
Happy together
So happy together
So happy together (ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba)

2. Let's continue with our PB unit 8. Go to pages 84-85 and read the episode (if you can listen to it, do it).
After reading the episode. Ejemplo: yes, she is; she is a vet...).

a) What special day is it today?
b) Where are the relatives?
c) Whose mum is first?
d) What’s her job?
e) Is Ravi’s dad here yet?
f) What’s his job?
g) What does Ravi’s dad show the children?
h) What do the children want to be when they’re older?

3. To finish, try to do the next worksheet.

Social Science 16 th April 2020

Hello, kids!

First of all I 'd like to share with you some of the drawings I have received in the last days.

Today we have to do a bit of Social Science. We started a new unit a few days ago (unit 3: water), and we talked about rivers, oceans, seas and lakes. Today we are going to talk about rivers. This is the information you can find on PB page 46 .

The first photograph shows some important aspects about rivers.

This second photograph tries to explain the stages of a river (son los diferentes lugares en el río, desde que comienza hasta que desemboca: from the source to the mouth).

So, after reading that information, let's see if you can do the next activities...

1. Draw a river and label the most important parts.
2. Try to do the next worksheet. Read it carefully and slowly.
3. I found a song about rivers.

Poco a poco.

That'll be all!

See you tomorrow :)

English 15th April 2020

Good morning, everyone!

I hope you are OK. It is Wednesday and today we have to do a bit of English. Are you ready?

Some days ago we talked about jobs. That was the first page of a new unit in English, Unit 8.

Have a look at the next dialogue between Josh and Lily (PB page 83).

Josh: What do you want to be when you’re older, Lily?
Lily: I want to be a vet.
Josh: Do you have to go to university to be a vet?
Lily: Yes, you do. You have to like animals, too.
Josh: I want to be a carpenter when I’m older.
Lily: Why?
Josh: Because you don’t have to wear a uniform.
Lily: Of course! You love wearing jeans.

1. Try to complete this dialogue with similar sentences...

Peter: What do you want to be when you’re older, Mary?
Mary: I want to be a mechanic.
Peter: Do you have to _____________ to be a mechanic?
Mary: Yes, you do. You have to ___________, too.
Peter: I want to be a ____________when I’m older.
Mary: Why?
Peter: Because you don’t have to _____________.
Mary: Of course! You love ______________.

2. Answer the next questions about jobs (have a look at the examples):

Examples:
- Do vets have to like animals? Yes, they do.
- Do mechanics have to wear a helmet? No, they don't.
- Does a doctor have to go to university? Yes, he/she does.
- Does a teacher have to wear a uniform? No, he/she doesn't.

Questions:
- Do singers have to wear a uniform?
- Does a carpenter have to use tools?
- Do teachers have to like animals?
- Does a dancer have to wear a helmet?
- Do chefs have to work very hard?
- Does a nurse have to be very tall?
- Do butchers have to speak English?
- Does a writer need to read a lot of books?
- Does a photographer need to travel?
- Does a lawyer need to study a lot?

3. Try to do the next vocabulary worksheet (super short and easy).

And that'll be all, folks!

See you tomorrow :)

Natural Science 14th April 2020

Gracias.

Hello, kids!

How are you today? I have to tell you one thing: you haven't noticed it, but you have grown...You look older, mature...so I think you will have to work a little harder...No! I'm joking. You are doing a great job, so keep up the good work :)

Before we continue with the new section about birds, read the information you already have about mammals and try to do AB page 14: 2. Super easy activity!

Today we are going to talk about the second group of vertebrates: birds. Your PB deals with these contents on page 41, but you can see the same information in the photo below.

We are going to talk about the same aspects in every group of vertebrate animals (nutrition, reproduction, respiration and then some information about their body, skills...).

After reading the information you are ready for this:

1. The next video offers a very good summary of birds (se entiende muy bien, y mucho mejor si activas la opción de subtítulos). Watch it. I'm sure you will learn some new things about how they reproduce, how they eat (different types of beaks...).

2. After learning about mammals and birds, try to answer the next question (PB page 41:1):

How are birds similar to mammals? How are they different?
(You can write the information in two columns: similarities and differences).

3. Go to the link below and choose one bird, click, read and write some information about it in your notebook: what they eat, size, where they live and some interesting facts. There are many birds on that site; choose your favourite if you want to.

And that is all for today.

See you tomorrow :)

AMAZING ANIMALS VIDEOS
ANIMAL MYSTERY GAME
SAN DIEGO ZOO GAMES
ANIMALS ART AND CRAFTS

Me parecen planes magníficos.

I hope you are ready for a new day. It's Thursday, but it feels like a Friday, so why don't we start with another song.

Watch the video and try to write the missing words in the lyrics below, as you did last week.

PENNY LANE (The Beatles)

In Penny Lane there is a barber showing __________
Of every _________he's had the pleasure to know
And all the __________that come and go
Stop and say _________
On the corner is a banker with a motorcar
The little _________laugh at him _________his back
And the banker __________wears a mac
In the pouring rain, very ___________
Penny Lane is in my _________and in my eyes
There beneath the ________suburban skies
I sit, and meanwhile back
In Penny Lane there is a ________with an hourglass
And in his pocket is a portrait of the _________
He __________to keep his fire engine clean
It's a clean ___________
Penny Lane is in my ears and in my _________
A four of fish and finger pies
In ___________, meanwhile back
Behind the shelter in the _________of a roundabout
The _________nurse is selling poppies from a tray
And though she feels as if she's in a _________
She is anyway
In Penny Lane the barber shaves _________customer
We see the banker sitting __________for a trim
And then the ________rushes in
From the pouring ________, very strange
Penny lane is in my ears and in my eyes
There beneath the blue suburban skies
I sit, and meanwhile back
Penny lane is in my ears and in my eyes
There beneath the blue suburban skies
Penny __________

Did you like it? Well, everybody loves a bit of the Beatles from time to time.
In this new unit (Unit 8) we are talking about jobs.
1. Could you write the four jobs that appear in the song?
2. I want you to do the next vocabulary worksheet. It is not interactive, but you don't have to copy the activities, you can just write the answers on a piece of paper.

Examples:
  • I want to be a police officer... Do I have to wear a uniform? (¿tengo que llevar uniforme?) Yes, you do.
  • Mary wants to be a doctor... Does she have to go to university? (¿tiene que ir a la universidad?). Yes, she does.
With that information, try to guess the jobs I am talking about... Sometimes there is more than one correct answer.

- She has to wear a helmet. She is a_________________
- They have to like animals. They are _______________
- He has to use many tools. He is a__________________
- We have to like children. We are__________________
- I don't have to wear a uniform. I am a______________
- You have to use a camera. You are a________________
- She has to paint very well. She is a_________________
- We have to work at night. We are not_______________

And that'll be all ;)

See you later!

Social Science 1st April 2020

Good morning, everyone!

How are you today? We begin a new month, and that is always a good thing

Let's start with some drawings by Miguel and Hugo E.

And now, Social Science.

We start Unit 3 today: Water. So we are going to talk about...anyone? Yes, water.

If you have your book with you, you can read pages 44-45. I have used those pages to write the next word map.

If you observe the physical map on page 44, you will see many examples of bodies of water (seas, oceans, rivers and lakes...). But we need a better map or Google to do the next activities :

1. Write five oceans and tell me if they are in the Northern hemisphere, Southern hemisphere or both.

2. Write five seas, five rivers and five lakes and say where they are (the continent is enough).

Now have a closer look at a map and observe the Iberian Peninsula. Answer the next question:

3. Which bodies of water border (rodean) Spain?

Read pages 44-45 again (or my word map) before you try the next quiz (link below).

4. QUIZ

Have a nice Wednesday!

See you tomorrow ;)
