Good morning, nice people!
Thursdays are always lovely days...and today is Thursday :)
Some drawings? Thank you, David and Santiago :)
Some drawings? Thank you, David and Santiago :)
Today I'd like you to do some Social Science activities. We are going to go over vocabulary and concepts about the five weather factors, weather instruments, etc.
Are you ready?
1. First, there are two educaplay activities you can try on the links below...
2. Read the next texts and answer the questions below.
The natural world around you gives many indications of what weather to expect. Read the following ways of forecasting wet weather using natural objects.
PINE CONES.
In dry weather, the scales of a pine cone open out. If wet weather is coming, the scales absorb the humidity in the air and close up again.
KELP
Kelp is a type of seaweed. In dry weather it shrivels up (se arruga), but if wet weather approaches, the kelp absorbs the water vapour in the air and swells (se hincha) to its normal shape again.
SCARLET PIMPERNEL
The flowers of the scarlet pimpernel close up when the atmospheric pressure decreases, warning of rain on the way.
a) What do pine cone scales do when the weather is wet?
b) What is kelp? What does it do when the weather is dry?
c) What happens to the scarlet pimpernel when rain approaches?
3. Last, but not least, I want you to try one of these interactives worksheets. The first is a bit easier than the second, that is also suuuuuuuuuuuper long. But as I always say, you don't have to do everything today. OK?
See you soon :)

It´s cloudy day" o "It´s cloudy. It´s a cloudy day" o en este " It´s wet. It´s rainy day" o "It´s rainy, It´s rainy day"
que pases buen día.Un beso
Carlos
